Greentop is developing from greenfield, a grid connected storage station in the Prefecture of Kilkis, Municipality of Pontoirakleia, The project has a storage capacity of 180MW/566MWh and is strategically placed near other renewable projects and very close to an UHV 400kV SS that is under development. The storage system will be connected directly to the grid operating in charge, discharge and standby mode.
The plot 390 has been leased with a contract from its owner for 20-years, with the option to extend. It uses lithium batteries LiFePO4 technology placed in containers easy to install, upgrade or remove.
